IMI Micro UZI – #A116

The Uzi is a semi-automatic submachine gun developed in Israel by weapons engineer Uziel Gal from 1948 and manufactured by the defense company Israel Military Industries (IMI)

Compact and reliable weapon, its multiple appearances in the cinema marked the general public, to the point where the denomination “Uzi” is sometimes used like a generic term to designate a submachine gun.

Built by stamping sheets of metal, the Uzi includes an overlapping breech, that is, which covers part of the barrel in order to move the center of gravity of the weapon further forward, mounted on an inclined ramp that reduces recoil and length 2. The first versions, released in 1952, had a barrel, a handle and a stick (short or long) in wood, which then equipped the Tsahal.
